Hemorrhoid Treatment

Discover suitable hemorrhoid treatment - the medical and the naturalWhist Hemorrhoids are not a particularly serious condition, they are something that you are going to want dealt with sooner as opposed to later. After all, a lack of hemorrhoid treatment can lead to all sorts of pain and discomfort.

On this page I am going to take a little look at some of ‘top’ hemorrhoid treatments. This is a mixture of both natural and medical treatments. To be honest, most people should be suffice going down the ‘natural’ route. This should clear up most cases of hemorrhoids pretty quickly.

All Natural Hemorrhoid Treatment Methods

Dietary Changes

First are foremost you are going to need to make changes to your diet. The idea here is to smooth the passage of the stool out of you. The easier (i.e. the softer the stool is), the less pressure it is going to be putting on the hemorrhoids. Now, this will not necessarily eradicate them completely. The chances are that it will make it less likely for them to swell up even further.

There is not a lot that you are going to need to do here. Obviously you are going to want to do the obvious such as get more fiber into your body (there are plenty of ways in which you can do this). There are many people out there who will try to veer away from spicy food. This is going to cause havoc on your lower regions. Apart from this, excess sugar and saturated fats are out. Basically think healthy and those swollen blood vessels will thank you in the long run. Read more about hemorrhoid diet plan.

Exercise

Many people who have hemorrhoids find that a little exercise from time to time helps them out a lot. You do not have to do too much. Thirty minutes a day at the maximum. The additional benefit of exercise is that it can help you lose weight. Excess weight is a leading contributory factor towards hemorrhoids. Combine exercise with a good diet and you should find that in most cases the condition should clear up on its own with next to no intervention from you otherwise.

Supplements

There are a number of ‘natural’ supplements on the market which have been claimed to help deal with Hemorrhoids. Now, it is worth noting that nothing has been proven to be 100% effective at combating the problem. However, with the pain and discomfort you are going through I am going to really believe that you are willing to try anything. It is worth talking to your natural food store about the supplements that they really suggest you should be using. Dietary Fiber supplements are always good if you are finding that you can’t get it in your diet any other way. Likewise you may wish to try Omega-3. People will normally get this from oily fish and some nuts. However, not all of us like those products or just can’t get enough of them on a daily basis. Omega-3 has been shown time and time again to help deal with inflammation in the body. That is why it is so effective on hemorrhoids.

Aloe Vera and Witch Hazel

Yes, these are two completely different products. However, I am putting them under the same heading as they both do pretty much the same job. It is worth noting that both of these products are natural products. What may work on one person may not necessarily work on another person. Generally speaking though, the majority of people will find that they can work well with either Aloe Vera or Witch Hazel.

Both of these products will be applied directly to the hemorrhoids (although you can take Aloe Vera orally if you want). You can do this by soaking a cotton ball in the product. You will be surprised at just how much this will shrink the hemorrhoids in a short amount of time. In most cases you will actually be able to eliminate the itching and general discomfort within seconds of application. This in my opinion is the best ‘quick fix’ on this list.

Bathroom Habits

Your bathroom habits are going to have a massive impact on the way in which you deal with hemorrhoids. After all, this is going to be the majority of people’s ‘direct contact’ with the condition. I have a couple of tips here for you:

Do not spend longer on that toilet than you have to. The longer you sit, the more pressure you are going to be putting on the lower regions of your body. This will cause all sorts of swelling and really has to be avoided. If you can’t ‘go’ right now then come back later. You should be spending no more than a couple of minutes on the toilet at once.

Make sure that you never wipe the anal area with dry toilet paper! This is going to be far too rough and irritate the hemorrhoids. If you must use toilet paper (and I suggest you don’t!) you should ALWAYS use some which has been soaked slightly in a bit of water. It is going to be far better for you.

It is important that you keep the anal area clean. As I said, part of your job will be in the wiping. However, in cases of serious hemorrhoids I really do not suggest wiping. This is going to irritate that area far too much. Instead you are going to want to clean it out in the shower. You only need to use a little bit of water for this. Do not use soaps as these will contain chemicals that make the problem a whole lot worse for you. Once you are done you can dry the area with a soft, fluffy towel. You only need to dab it lightly.

The Medical Route to Treat Hemorrhoids

Ointment

The medical route to treat hemorrhoids with ointmentIf you head to a pharmacy then you will find all manner of creams and ointments available to purchase. There is no one ointment that is better than another.

You may have to use a number of different ones before you find one that helps deal with the problem for you. If you go to the doctor then they may be able to prescribe you something known as ‘Corticosteroid Cream‘ which is known for cleaning up the symptoms and signs of hemorrhoids quite quickly. This is a steroid so you will only be able to use it for a week at a time before you have to take a good, long break from it.

Surgery

Sadly there may be cases of Hemorrhoids which just can’t be dealt with using the methods detailed above. In serious cases of Hemorrhoids then you sadly may need to go down the surgical route. There are a number of different treatment options here. The one that your doctor choses will depend on the severity of your condition.

Rubber Band Litigation

This is a simple hemorrhoid treatment procedure (compared to the other techniques on this list at least) which involves a mall rubber band being tied around the hemorrhoids. This effectively cuts off the circulation. This will eventually cause it to drop off. The roblem will probably clear up within a week. Those who go through this rocedure may experience a little discomfort during the first few days. They may also notice a little bit of bleeding around the area. Apart from this, the condition is pretty ‘safe’.

Sclerotherapy

This is basically an injection directly into the hemorrhoid. The idea is that it will eventually shrink it. There is little to no pain involved with this procedure. It is worth noting that it is not always successful though. Most people will be better off with rubber band litigation. Your doctor may wish to start you off with the injection though, just because it does have the non-pain benefit.

Coagulation

This technique involves intense light or heat being forced upon the hemorrhoids. This will cause them to eventually harden up and shrivel. There is a case that hemorrhoids may return after this happens and thus not many people go down this route.

Hemorrhoid Removal Surgery

During surgery your doctor will remove Hemorrhoid tissue. You will normally be ‘put to sleep’ during this procedure and thus you will not feel any pain. This is often a last resort in the cases of larger hemorrhoids. This is because there are a number of side effects which can occur. These can be quite difficult to deal with. This includes urinary tract infections, problems with emptying the bladder, and severe pain.

Hemorrhoid Stapling

This is the most popular of surgeries for ‘big hemorrhoids’. This will involve quite literally stapling the impacted areas. This will block the amount of blood that can flow into them. This will most likely cause them to fall off eventually. There is less pain and less downtime involved with this type of surgery and thus it is normally the ‘first choice’ for most doctors. However, we still recomend to stay as natural as possible and to start with hemorrhoids home remedies. For more information about hemorrhoid treatment (Lubrication) please watch this video:
